CaptainGrunyard ::: Favorites 2007-12-13 00:28:55 This type of animation was so much better than the refined by lifeless animation of the Lion King, Hercules and the other shite the Disney company puts out nowadays. __________________________________________________
CrazedGorillazFan ::: Favorites 2007-11-17 00:26:52 I have the Disney Sing-a-long tape, and the part where the man starts singing is on it. I loved the song so much. I wish I could watch the movie. :/ __________________________________________________
bobalu10 ::: Favorites 2007-10-27 16:21:36 If Uncle Remus killed all his masters Blacks would demand it be shown on a regular basis __________________________________________________
bobalu10 ::: Favorites 2007-10-27 15:28:15 just like in Hilter's Gremany this is banned in the USA __________________________________________________
cdiggy74 ::: Favorites 2007-08-21 14:58:09 I posted the video and I had to order the DVD from France while I was in Belgium via the web. I dont think Disney was at the time racist, or had racist intent, but those damn black faced bees are bogus and they did set this children's story in the background of one of our nations most inhumane and darkest periods (slavery). __________________________________________________
sharkyff4 ::: Favorites 2007-08-06 20:00:58 I hope they re-release this movie. It is a classic disney film. People are too sensitive about these things. Relax and enjoy the film. I am latino and i don't get mad at Disney's three amigos cartoon (the one with the parrots) I think that is what its called. __________________________________________________
darksonic26 ::: Favorites 2007-08-06 16:47:16 You need to do a bit more research. The movie is a interpretation of published folktales by Joel Chandler Harris, in 1881. There were several books published, and they all focused on the stories of a kindly old slave, Uncle Remus. Disney was not racist in any; the fact of the matter is, this is when the stories took place. You need to look into what you're talking about, and do a bit more research, before you point a finger and call a company racist. __________________________________________________
VA24541 ::: Favorites 2007-07-23 10:43:18 You are mistaken to apply 21st century mores to 19th century fiction. __________________________________________________
HumbleHarry ::: Favorites 2007-07-23 00:44:44 The film is not banned. It's available on DVD for all those who still thrill to the fiction of happy and carefree slaves in the antebellum south :/ __________________________________________________
xXxsourskittlesxXx ::: Favorites 2007-07-19 23:48:26 This movie is actully a complament to the the african americans. ( Sorry about my spellling) __________________________________________________
VA24541 ::: Favorites 2007-07-01 01:32:54 "Song of The South" Disney made it in 1946. it is one of the best films ever made by Disney. However, you cannot see it now in the USA because somebody said it was racist, and was therefore withdrawn at once. The NAACP does not approve, so you cannot see it. __________________________________________________
Bathspud ::: Favorites 2007-06-25 11:53:07 Oh dear, oh dear. Please. You do realize that companies have presidents, right? Are you so touchy that the word "president" automatically refers to Bush? It's not the anti-Bush "hate" that knows no limits, it's the need to be offended on his behalf... __________________________________________________
weemel2kaii7 ::: Favorites 2007-06-23 07:57:41 here maytees am only 15 and i love the song and film ohh yeah i know the song of by heart __________________________________________________ |
