Description:

Part 1 of my revised uniform compilation. Fallschirmjäger gear of 1939-1945. FJ carried much less equipment than Wehrmacht/Waffen SS into combat, thus the lack of an A-frame and other equipment. Most of their camping equipment would be left in and on a rucksack that they would leave behind before engaging in combat (as seen in Part 2) I know I am missing some of the issued equipment, such as a gask mask bag. I am also wearing extra ammo pouches, like Fallschirmjäger were occaisonally known to do. Fallschirmjäger were not issued these normally. I do this purely from hobby, NOTHING POLITICAL.

Well, if it is used as a squad support weapon, it is more useful on full auto.

@fillsbury Both the ZB and the FG 42 are rough equivalents of the BAR. Scope variants of the FG 42 existed, so that is the gun you're looking for.

@fillsbury You're probably talking about the ZB vz.26 LMG. This was a Czechoslovak machine gun, not a German one. They were used by the Germans, though, mostly by the Waffen-SS and police forces. The Fallschirmjäger were using the MG 34, which was the standard German LMG in that time. Later it was supposed to be replaced by the FG 42, but these were built in small numbers.

Lets see... around 62000 Fallschirmjäger MIA/KIA during the war... a bit more than 6000 FG-42s made. Seen one in Paris, it's a pretty neat rifle. They did use pretty much the same weapons as normal units, but were usually dropped with only a pistol and maybe MP40, due to the "wonderful" jump harness. Weapons came in crates. VERY nice set, keep it up. Good luck for further acquitations.

A hobby is a hobby. As long as he is in it for historical accuracy and not some wierd political obsession.
