Description:

Hundreds strip naked on glacier in global warming protest. Aletsch Glacier, Switzerland — An emergency provokes extreme responses: human beings in danger will abandon social niceties, etiquette, and the norms of acceptable behaviour to raise an alarm any way they can when lives are in danger. Today, six hundred people shed their clothes on a glacier in the Swiss Alps to bodily cry out for help against a planetary emergency: global warming.

If it hadn't been for the installation, we would have never seen the beautiful landscape of the glaciers and of Switzerland in general, hope it will never change, and the glaciers will remain forever. So thank you Greenpeace and Spencer Tunick very much

Me and my boyfriend came from Mallorca, Spain and we thought it was the most incredible thing we've ever done. Though everybody spoke diferent languages, when we were all naked in front of the wild nature, we felt a feeling of union among all the people who were there.

This is awesome - and after seeing the glaciers in Alaska this summer, I have a new found respect for these beautiful and important pieces of nature and history. Thank you for posting this!

To anyone who still ignorantly or blindly believes that current global warming is not exacerbated and in many ways caused by human activity, I suggest you read specific and detailed books like The Empty Tank by Jeremy Legget; and check out climate science from climate scientists at the realclimate dot org website, search for "human impact" and read in particular the June 7, 2007, report on Cockburn's Form.
